WHAT IS SKIN?

Skin is the largest organ in our body. Which eliminates body waste and also act as an immune defense barrier. What we apply on the skin affects our overall health.

NORMAL SKIN

Normal skin is neither oily or flaky. It feels supple and smooth. You’re lucky if you have normal skin! Think of a healthy little baby’s skin, or a young child’s cheeks. That’s the best example of normal skin.

Remedy : All you need to do is maintain your skin type. Do so by first washing away dirt and grime with a face wash that cleanses deeply. Then tone your face to seal moisture within the pores and keep away oil. Finally, moisturise it to keep your face taut and healthy. For normal skin, exfoliate weekly to stop grime from collecting.

OILY SKIN

Oily skin often shows late signs of ageing. It is also common for a person with oily skin to have lots of visible and open pores. Oily skin is shiny, especially around the forehead, nose and chin area.

Remedy : You need the right skin care routine to remove the excess sebum it secretes. Start by no –soap cleansing, face wash that’s enriched with ingredients like Hamamelis (witch Hazel) which reduces excess oil production on skin. Next, spritz a toner that contains refreshing ingredients like green tea or tea tree all over your face. Finally, apply a aqua based cream over your face to hydrate it without making it greasy.

DRY SKIN

Dry skin may feel stretched and look flaky. Dry skin has very small pores, often closed. Frequent, deep moisturizing is particularly important for this skin type.

Remedy : To get rid of dry skin, start by cleansing your face with a moisturizing face wash which will remove impurities without sapping hydration. Follow this with a rich moisturizer that will go deep into your skin to nourish it from within and drive dryness away. Don’t forget to apply a body lotion full of nutrients like Argan oil, Shea butter, Organic Glycerin and Aloe Vera. This nurturing cream face pack with moisturizing ingredients can do wonders to boost your hydration levels.

COMBINATION SKIN

Combination skin is most common skin type. Usually, the skin is oily in the t-zone (forehead, nose and chin), but remains normal to dry elsewhere.

Remedy : You need to start with a gentle cleanser and light toner to leave the skin refreshed. Use moisturising cream over the dry areas of your face to nourish it. Over the oily areas like the T-zone, use an oil-free moisturizer on face to keep it feeling healthy. Using the right mix of products that target your oily and dry spots can do wonders for combination skin.

SENSITIVE SKIN

Sensitive skin is a skin condition in which skin is prone to itching and irritation experienced as a subjective sensation when using cosmetics and toiletries.

Remedy : You need to careful what you apply on your skin! Use a gentle soap-free cleanser which has same PH level of the normal skin. Follow this by a fragrance-free moisturiser which is water-based to care for your skin in the gentlest manner possible. To maintain sensitive skin well, opt for products that are free of parabens and sulphates, which can irritate it easily.
